Queen of Hearts on Flickr
Last night in coordination with the Free Melons x Madhouse campaign, we took to the streets of DC to photograph the stunning Iggy Azalea. It ended up going down at the Warehouse Loft off of New York Ave as part of an event known as Sunday Funday. There were food trucks, handmade clothing vendors, ill DJs and a tent where funk and gogo bands showed out.
After going on a daring battery run for AAs we got back in time to catch Iggy hopping out the whip with her entourage. We all made our way back to the dressing room, chatted over some redbull and peanut butter sangwiches and popped off some photos. Rocking the ill Queen of Hearts leotard (inspiration for the name of the photo) made it very easy to set her up for a shoot. The red hearts and lipstick looked dope against the blue background and the way the grey line in the paint separated at her hips was very appealing. Not to mention her natural charisma and comfort in front of the camera. We banged out a few shots in this room and then it was off to the show.
A special shout out to Mista Selecta & Avanti for putting together the epic event and to Joi for helping art direct the shoot.
Salute and Happy Memorial Day!
